The greatest example of lack of trust is African culture. We try and “fix” Africa by pouring money on it. The real problem is the lack of trust. Checks are suspect and practically do not exist or used in a transaction. Addresses are rare. No one wants people to know where they live. Therefore no mail, no credit cards, no Amazon. Employers assume employees will steal. Employees assume the employer will not pay them. Any transaction is with cash and the deliverable is displayed before exchange occurs. Any service is pay first then receive service be it telephone, data, etc.
